Shillah Raymond – Executive Director

Shillah is the Executive Director. She is an award winning journalist of prowess with an experience spanning to a period of over six years and with solid knowledge in media, specifically for radio. She has over the years engaged her journalistic skills to promote the rights of the under privileged like women and children, champion human rights for everyone and above all, impart her skills to other upcoming journalists in order for them to continue with the work of professional journalism to bring change in the society and in the world. Among the awards she won include: Overall winner, Radio category 2014 on Children protection and policy from CRALAF, Best radio journalist of the year 2014 on Children policy and protection from CRALAF. Best Radio Journalist of the year 2010 reporting on Population and Development from UNFPA, Runners up reporter of the year 2012 reporting on Gender and Development from UNFPA and Journalist of the year 2013 reporting on children affairs from CLARAF. She is an active member of KEMEP-Kenya Media Network on Population and Development and Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK) as well as PR, Media and communication women network.

Her earlier career experience includes serving in leadership roles in both private and nonprofit organizations. Prior to this role, she was the PR and Communications Executive at Africa Alliance of YMCA, managing the Communications teams of YMCAs in 24 African countries. She was one of the Young journalists trained by Kutoka Network in their Media Project

She has a degree in Mass Communication from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is Pursuing Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications Degree at Kenya Methodist University.

Charles Ochieng – Programme Officer, Youth

Charles is currently pursuing CPA course having completed Kenya accounting technician cause at Kenya polytechnic University. Charles has also done   a certificate in youth ministry, counseling and introductory general psychology at Tangaza University Collage and is also trained on child protection policy and is versed on issues of gender and gender mainstreaming having trained on the same. Charles has worked at St Johns posts society as a sports officer mainly in charge of managing and engaging various national sporting federations in terms of identifying and nurturing sporting talents of members of  St johns sports society that are drowned from the  six sporting clubs namely; karate, netball, handball, boxing, football and teakwondo   

Charles is also a Fast Dan Black in karate and is an active member of Kenya karate federation and is currently a part time karate coach and life skill trainer.

Japheth Oluoch Ogola – Finance and Admin Officer

Japheth is a masters student at Kenyatta University. He has a long career working with communities in urban slums in areas of finance, accounts, project management, governance and communication. He is a public speaker, media contributor widely published globaly, active community organizer and advisor to several community organizations on urban matters. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce (finance option) and a Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA-K) both from KCA University Nairobi, a post graduate diploma in project management from Kenya Institute of Management and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) finalist. He has won several academic awards for his exemplary performance. He has presented several papers in both local and international conferences.

He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and the British Institute in East Africa (B.I.E.A) and Great Thinkers Group a self help savings organization. He is a part of a team of five professionals with backgrounds from Korogocho who have started a consultancy company called Peacock Associates and a sister Community Based Organization Peacock CBO. He has consulted for Pamoja Trust, Miss Koch Initiative,The Youth Congress and Integrated Education for Community Empowerment (IECE) formerly Education for Life among others.

Muthama Joseph – Programme Officer – Governance

Mr. Muthama is a masters degree graduate in peace studies, conflict management and international relations from catholic university of eastern africa. He holds a bachelor of education degree from st. Mary’s university of minnesota-USA

 Mr. Muthama is a trained paralegal & a trainer of trainers on governance & human rights for over 15 years. In addition to that, he is a psychosocial counsellor and his initial profession is press technician at diploma level.

He has worked with a number of organizations in various capacities including the cooperative bank of kenya limited as a press technician and as a teacher at st. Anne’s girls secondary school in nairobi, st. John’s sports society as the programmes manager.
