Shillah Raymond – Executive Director
Shillah is the Executive Director. She is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in strategic leadership, program management, and communications. Specializing in gender empowerment and social development, she has led transformative initiatives focused on education, health, and economic empowerment, particularly for women and girls in Africa. Her work at Kutoka Network highlights her ability to drive sustainable change, demonstrating her commitment to mobilizing resources and teams towards impactful outcomes. Shillah’s extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and her contributions to sectors such as SRHR, child protection, and GBV emphasizes her expertise and dedication to creating lasting social impact.
Her earlier career experience includes serving in leadership roles in both private and nonprofit organizations. Prior to this role, she was the PR and Communications Executive at Africa Alliance of YMCA, managing the Communications teams of YMCAs in 24 African countries. She was one of the Young journalists trained by Kutoka Network in their Media Project
She has a degree in Mass Communication from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is Pursuing Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications Degree at Kenya Methodist University.
Japheth Oluoch Ogola – Finance and Admin Officer
Japheth is a masters student at Kenyatta University. He has a long career working with communities in urban slums in areas of finance, accounts, project management, governance and communication. He is a public speaker, media contributor widely published globaly, active community organizer and advisor to several community organizations on urban matters. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce (finance option) and a Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA-K) both from KCA University Nairobi, a post graduate diploma in project management from Kenya Institute of Management and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) finalist. He has won several academic awards for his exemplary performance. He has presented several papers in both local and international conferences.
He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and the British Institute in East Africa (B.I.E.A) and Great Thinkers Group a self help savings organization. He is a part of a team of five professionals with backgrounds from Korogocho who have started a consultancy company called Peacock Associates and a sister Community Based Organization Peacock CBO. He has consulted for Pamoja Trust, Miss Koch Initiative,The Youth Congress and Integrated Education for Community Empowerment (IECE) formerly Education for Life among others.
Muthama Joseph – Programme Officer – Governance
Mr. Muthama is a masters degree graduate in peace studies, conflict management and international relations from catholic university of eastern africa. He holds a bachelor of education degree from st. Mary’s university of minnesota-USA
Mr. Muthama is a trained paralegal & a trainer of trainers on governance & human rights for over 15 years. In addition to that, he is a psychosocial counsellor and his initial profession is press technician at diploma level.
He has worked with a number of organizations in various capacities including the cooperative bank of kenya limited as a press technician and as a teacher at st. Anne’s girls secondary school in nairobi, st. John’s sports society as the programmes manager.
